Introductory Courses

Weekend, Nine-Day & Fortnight Courses

The weekend and nine-day courses introduce students to the point of view of the School, namely, the Unity of Existence.

They address in depth the question of self-knowledge.  What is self-knowledge?  Who are we, what are we, why are we and what is the way to self-knowledge?  From a careful study of key texts on the subject - which are drawn from a wide variety of sources and some of which are unique to these courses - discussion correlates the various aspects and finds the single-pointed focus: the unity of all existence and the real meaning of what it means to be human.

Every course has a balanced programme of study, meditation and work (cooking, cleaning, out of door activities). 

The Introductory Courses are complete in themselves and can also be a stepping-stone to the six-month Intensive Course.

Introductory weekend and nine-day courses can be arranged on request, in any place in the world. Currently they are held in the UK (see below), Australia, Indonesia and the USA. For details of courses held outside the UK, please choose one of these country links.

A short course in your country?

A course is possible wherever there is a group of people wishing to find out more. The School will require from you:

• Name, address, telephone and email of Organisation or contact person
• Venue, preferably residential
• A minimum of 6 students wishing to take part
• Travel expenses and accommodation for two correlators

All courses, weekend or nine days, begin on a Friday evening (arrival by 6.00 pm) and end on Sunday afternoon, after lunch. They are fully residential.

Nine-Day and Weekend courses begin on Friday evening (arrival by 6.00 pm) and end at Sunday lunchtime.

The school does not wish to exclude people for financial reasons. For those on a low income, payment can sometimes be spread over a longer period of time, and concessionary rates are available. If you need help with course fees please contact the secretary.
